How PrairieTask works

A place for older adults in Saskatchewan to find someone local for the everyday things — a walk that needs shovelling, a lift to an appointment, a television that has stopped behaving. You don’t need an account to look around and there is no app to install. Saying what you need takes about a minute, and we ask for an email so replies can reach you. A phone number is optional, and stays private until you have chosen who is coming.

If you need help

3. 3Choose who comesOnce you pick someone, you each get the other's number — so you can talk it through on the phone before they turn up.

If you’re arranging it for a parent

What it costs

Two things are optional and paid: featuring a task ($5 for 7 days) or a helper profile ($9 for 7 days) to sit above standard results. Featuring buys placement. It does not promise that anyone replies.

Prefer us to arrange it?

When available, Arrange it for me lets you send a private request to PrairieTask. We coordinate an available helper and send the scope, appointment and full price for your approval. Sending a request is free. An arrangement fee applies only to the booking you approve, and replaces the usual platform payment fee for that booking.

Contact details

Your email and mobile number are never shown on a listing. You message each other through PrairieTask, and once a poster chooses a helper the two of you get each other’s number so you can sort out the practical bits.

Paying for the work

For self-service tasks, you can pay directly by cash or e-transfer. Where offered, card payments through PrairieTask show the service fee before you approve. Arranged bookings use card payment with a disclosed arrangement fee. Your card is authorised first, then charged when completion is confirmed; authorisations have a limited validity period.
